Clinical Pharmacy Opportunity: Cancer Services Pharmacist Posts
About the Role
Are you looking to broaden your clinical experience and develop your skills in a specialist area? We may have the perfect opportunity for you.
We are seeking a pharmacist to join our Cancer Services Pharmacy Team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to explore cancer pharmacy and gain valuable experience in this specialist field.
Eligibility & Requirements
For Band 7 Pharmacists
We welcome applications from Band 7 pharmacists who are looking to build or further their careers in cancer services.
For Band 6 Pharmacists (6-months experience in hospital, towards PGCert in GP practice)
If you are a band 6 pharmacist with a minimum of 6 months hospital experience, and working towards a post-graduate certificate in General Pharmacy Practice, all you will need is a keen interest in oncology.
We can offer you:
- Progression from Band 6 to Band 7, based on the UHSussex Band 6–7 Clinical Rotational Progression Programme.
- Training provided in cancer pharmacy through rotations across adult and paediatric oncology and technical services.
Oncology experience is desirable but not essential—training will be covered throughout your role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
