Specialist SEND Administration Manager
Location: Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust
Salary: Band F SCP 26 – 31 £37,280 – £41,772 per annum (pro rata) Actual salary: £33,695 – £37,755 per annum
Hours: 37 hours per week, Term time + 1 week
About the Role
This is a new role being developed within the central team, closely linked to the SEND Reforms. The role will evolve as guidance and legislation emerge.
The Specialist SEND Administration Manager will provide high-quality administrative and organisational support to the Trust’s central SEND team. Working closely with the Director of SEND and other key colleagues, the postholder will:
- Ensure effective coordination, compliance, and communication across the Trust
- Maintain high-quality, timely information sharing with schools and SENDCos
- Support statutory processes and enable the central team through:
- Strong administrative systems -Exceptional organisation
- Proactive attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Coordinates and manages centralised SEND administrative processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Supports the development and maintenance of EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plans) and related documentation.
- Maintains essential records, including statutory forms, correspondence, and risk assessments.
- Acts as a liaison point between schools, SENDCos, outside agencies, and central teams.
- Monitors statutory timescales and deadlines, providing timely updates to the team.
- Develops and improves administrative systems, including databases and filing structures.
- Represents the central SEND team at relevant multi-agency meetings as required.
- Assists in the analysis of SEND-related data to inform policy and practice.
- Supports professional development of the central SEND team through training and knowledge-sharing.

Requirements
Candidates must demonstrate:
- Evidence of higher education study (degree or equivalent qualification).
- Completed Safeguarding Level 1 training.
- Proven experience in handling, managing, and recording confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of school leadership.
- Resilience and flexibility to remain calm under pressure.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to high standards in all tasks.
- Advanced IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- A working knowledge of SEND processes, including:
- Understanding of EHCPs and their statutory requirements.
- Familiarity with SEND Code of Practice.
- Awareness of key timelines and legal responsibilities.
- Good understanding of the needs of pupils with SEND and the importance of inclusive practice in schools.
