Specialist, Shipping Procurement – Venture Global LNG
Location: London (in-office daily, occasional nights/weekends, and periodic travel locally/intercountery)

Venture Global LNG („Venture Global“) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas (LNG). Our Louisiana-based export projects support global demand for North American gas and facilitate the long-term deployment of clean, reliable energy supplies.
Through modular, mid-scale plant designs, we deliver lower capital costs and operational reliability, redefining LNG infrastructure for the future.
The Role
We are looking for a procurement specialist to support our Shipping Operations team with purchasing equipment, materials, and services needed for our Venture Global Shipping Vessels. Working across Ship Management, Newbuild, and Logistics, you will ensure on-time, compliant sourcing that aligns with budget and schedule requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Execution
- Assess vessel needs, negotiate with local/approved suppliers, and secure reliable delivery of materials (including consumables and minor subcontracting work).
- Gather daily procurement requests, consult directly with ship crews and operations teams to prioritise material requirements.
- Develop and distribute Requests For Quotes (RFQs), collect vendor proposals, and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in line with corporate procurement policies.
- Source alternative suppliers to meet business demands, leveraging deep knowledge of global logistics markets.

- Work closely with logistics teams to coordinate port deliveries.
- Track and report procurement progress (RFQs, POs issued, supplier outreach) through daily updates.
- Support Supplier Performance Management (SPM) strategies, ensuring continual vendor evaluation.
- Maintain procurement records (supplier feedback, material requests, POs), adhering to data retention policies.
Problem Solving & Mode
- Own critical decisions under limited direction—anticipate issues and escalate/Resolve on-sie/request.
- Manage unexpected challenges (e.g., delays, quality issues) and propose cost-effective solutions.
- Willingness to troubleshoot on-site or travel to suppliers/heads when required.
Requirements
Experience & Skills
- 2+ years of direct purchasing experience, preferably in marine/logistics, energy, or heavy industry procurement.
- Procurement knowledge—familiarity with LNG, shipping vessel operations, or energy transport preferable but not mandatory.
- Technical fluency in procurement systems:
- MariApps, Coupa, or MS Office (excel, word, PowerPoint).
- Strategic mindset—fill purchase needs with minimal supervision, evaluate high/low-zero patronage trade-offs.
- Relationship building—experience fostering trusted partnerships with vendors, internal stakeholders (ship crews, management), and suppliers.
Soft Skills
- Attention to detail—ensure purchase orders meet legal, technical, and accuracy standards.
- Confident verbal/written communicator—bridge gaps between:
- Technical teams (vessel operations).
- Suppliers (negotiating contracts/pricing).
- Business leaders (justifying cost/sourcing choices).
- Problem on disparity—ability to sub-figure out, fast-forward accept led by logic, avoid panics/gaps in processes.

Work Arrangements
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
- Office location: Venture Global LNG office in London, UK (hybrid arrangements require prior approval).
- On-call availability: Occasional nights and weekends as needed for critical provider escalations or shipping schedules.
- Travel: Approximate 30-40 days per year for:
- Supplier visits, monitoring production/quality.
- Domestic business trips (e.g., USA mainland suppliers).
- International meetings (key supplier engagements or headquarters).
