An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, permanent, Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work in the Community Treatment Teams within Northumberland.

We welcome applicants who have experience working with adults with mental health issues although this is not essential. It is essential that applicants are registered as a Speech and Language Therapist and have previous experience working within a mental health, learning disability or neurodevelopmental setting and/or team. We are interested in appointing a dedicated and committed individual who can demonstrate their ability to engage and work collaboratively with others/partner agencies and understand complex systems in order to support effective pathways.

About the Role

CTT's provide care, treatment and assessment for adults with complex, moderate to severe needs over the whole of Northumberland.

The multi-disciplinary team comprises a highly skilled and experienced workforce of consultant psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, social workers, art therapists and support workers. The team are dedicated, compassionate and always put young people and their families at the centre of everything they do.

You will provide specialist SALT assessment, intervention and recommendations for adults accessing these services. You will work as an integral member of the CTT MDT and support the ongoing development of the SALT provision in the service.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
