The Children and Families Department takes a strengths-based approach to working with each other, children, young people and families, and our partner agencies. We call this 'Our Nottinghamshire Approach'. Watch the two minute animation to learn more.
We are seeking to appoint a highly skilled and experienced teacher to our supportive, hardworking and successful Cognition and Learning Team. The team is part of Nottinghamshire County Council’s SEND Inclusion Service.
You will use your knowledge, skills and experience to develop and deliver effective strategies/interventions aimed at improving outcomes for children and young people with a wide variety of complex cognition difficulties in Key Stages 2-5. You will work at a variety of levels, using positive and inclusive approaches to provide support and advice to school staff, liaising with parents and engaging in direct modelling of teaching, where appropriate. Support from dedicated specialist teaching assistants ensures that a flexibility of approaches can be offered.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You would also be involved in providing support to Nottinghamshire’s Family of Schools structure through Family SENCos and SENCos and the District SENCo role, in order to strengthen provision for pupils with SEND in their localities.
We are looking for a teacher who is knowledgeable about the National Curriculum, appropriate interventions and the barriers young people with complex cognition needs can face. We welcome applications from highly motivated, creative practitioners, who enjoy working in a collaborative, solution-focussed way.
You will part of a very supportive team, working across the County as required. Your base will depend upon the needs of the team but will be either the Home Brewery Building in Arnold, Sherwood Energy Village, Ollerton or Meadow House, Mansfield. The post involves a good deal of driving across the County.
This is a temporary appointment for 2 days per week, for 18 months.
The post carries a SEN Point and TLR 2a.
For an informal discussion about this opportunity please contact Cath Page or Jeremy Hepburn on 0115 8546464 or by email cath.page@nottscc.gov.uk.
