About the Role
At SENse Learning, we are offering impact-first roles for passionate teachers to inspire young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. Our Specialist Teacher positions allow you to provide meaningful, one-to-one support in a variety of settings, including homes, remote and in-community lessons—delivered through creative, individualised learning.
Multiple positions are available, hiring is ongoing, and interviews are scheduled on a rolling basis as applications are received.

Essential
✅ Experience: 2+ years of post-NQT teaching experience, ideally with experience supporting:
- SEND, SEMH, MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties)
- SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties)
- PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) Applying a holistic, trauma-informed approach
✅ Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or QTLS) required
✅ Mindset & Skills:
- Ability to work child-centred and adaptable, tailoring learning in creative ways
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and learning environment safety
- Commitment to bespoke, one-to-one support
✅ Legal & Location: Must be UK-based, eligible to work in the UK (confirmed via Ucasinschools pattern checks)

The Specialist Teacher Role & Responsibilities
As a Specialist Teacher with SENse Learning, you will:
✔ Build trusted relationships with children/youth who have faced education limitations due to complex needs
✔ Deliver individualised support tailored to:
- KS1–KS5 pupils, specialising in SEMH and SEND issues
- Flexible tutoring methods working with holistic and trauma-aware methodologies
- Home visits, online tutoring, and hybrid sessions aligned with student needs
✔ Plan sessions based on EHCP (Education Health & Care Plans) and associated risk assessments via a safe, consistent & proactive approach
✔ Provide regular feedback on student progress and wellbeing/daily challenges via lesson reports

This position involves contracting as a self-employed tutor/teacher with SENse Learning.

This is a direct hire-to-contract basis, not a full-time employed role nor PAYE.
