Specialist Teaching Assistant - Technician
Part Time -25 hours per week, Term Time Only, Permanent
Location: Elmfield House
Start date:1st September 2026
We are looking for Specialist Teaching Assistant to join our Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-established service with a commitment to quality improvement.
This role involves providing support to children and young people with visual impairment, adapting and producing resources, using technology and managing the loan of resources and equipment, working with teachers of the visually impaired, supporting the delivery of training opportunities.
This is a peripatetic role covering 4 local authorities (Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Bath & NE Somerset).
You will be able to communicate effectively with a variety of professionals, parents and children and have a good level of experience in working with children and who have SEN, direct experience working with children, use or have the ability to learn to use a range of specialist assistive technology.
Travelling to and between different settings is required.
Please note that this role is subject to an Enhanced DBS Check.
