The Role

The Technology team makes sure Journey Further's clients can trust their data. We build the tracking foundations that everything else depends on, from analytics reporting through to the signals our media platforms optimise against.

As a Tracking Specialist, you own the technical tracking layer. You work hands-on across the Google stack, designing and implementing tagging that captures the right data accurately, and you make sure the ad platforms we run are receiving clean, correct signals to measure performance against. When tracking breaks, you find out why and fix it.

This is a client-facing, deadline-driven role. You will move between multiple accounts, diagnose problems under pressure, and explain technical decisions to people who do not live in the detail the way you do.

What you will do

  • Design and implement tagging strategies across web and app, built on well-structured data layers
  • Configure and manage Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4, including custom events, conversions, and enhanced measurement
  • Ensure paid media platforms (Google Ads, Meta, and others) receive accurate conversion and audience signals through both client-side and server-side tagging
  • Debug and resolve tracking issues, from missing events and duplicate conversions to data layer faults and consent-related gaps
  • Audit existing tracking setups and rebuild them where they fall short
  • Build consent-compliant tracking that respects GDPR and works correctly under Consent Mode and the client's CMP
  • Validate data quality across analytics and platform reporting, so the numbers teams act on are right
  • Work directly with clients and internal activation teams to scope requirements, set up tracking for new campaigns, and turn technical detail into clear recommendations
  • Stay ahead of changes in the measurement landscape, including server-side tagging, consent regulation, and platform signal requirements, and bring better solutions to the team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Confident debugging skills, using tools like GTM preview mode, browser dev tools, and tag assistant utilities to trace and fix problems
  • A working understanding of GDPR, consent, and Consent Mode, and how they shape what can and cannot be tracked
  • The ability to work to short deadlines across several clients without dropping accuracy
