This a 4 PA post will predominantly support the Adoption and Children Looked After service delivered by the Worthing Community Paediatric Team. The post holder will undertake initial health assessments for Children Looked After and support and deliver some of the work of the Medical Advisor to Adoption South East. There may be opportunities to contribute to Social Communication (Autism) assessments and complete medical advice for Education, Health and Care Plans.
The post holder will be based at the Children’s Centre at Worthing Hospital.
This post does not include acute on-call.
Responsibilities
- The assessment of Children Looked After for initial and review health assessments.
- To support and deliver some of the work of the Medical Advisor to Adoption Southeast including counselling prospective adopters, providing adoption medical reports and attending Adoption Panel.
- From time to time, undertaking neurodisability clinics with the multidisciplinary team particularly focussing on assessments for Autism and social communication difficulties in the 4 to 11 age group.
- There is the option of attending the weekly Child Development Team meeting.
- Participation in clinical improvement projects and teaching (resident doctors, medical students and allied health professionals) is part of the role.
