Hours: Full Time/37.5 Hours

Located in London, in a peaceful and secluded part of Southgate, Priory Hospital North London is set within a striking Grade I listed building, overlooking beautiful parklands.

It's one of the UK’s leading centres for the treatment of a range of mental health difficulties, including addictions, depression, anxiety, stress and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). We also offer private autism assessments for adults.

Since North London first opened its doors in 1986, we have worked tirelessly to establish our excellent reputation as a specialist provider of mental health care.


What you'll be doing

In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

  • Deliver high-quality medical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment for patients with complex mental health needs, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care.
  • Work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist and multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, and regularly review individual care and treatment plans.
  • Conduct ward rounds, clinical reviews, and risk assessments, supporting patients throughout their recovery journey.
  • Prescribe medication safely and maintain accurate, timely clinical records in line with GMC standards, relevant legislation, and organisational policies.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement initiatives, and service development to enhance patient outcomes and standards of care.
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to junior medical colleagues and other members of the multidisciplinary team, promoting collaborative and evidence-based practice.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential experience:

  • Candidates must hold full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise and have completed at least four years of postgraduate medical training, including a minimum of two years in a relevant speciality.
  • They should have previous experience working in psychiatry, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with complex mental health conditions.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, carrying out risk assessments, developing treatment plans, maintaining accurate clinical records, and prescribing safely in line with current clinical guidance is essential.
  • Applicants should also have a sound understanding of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, safeguarding, and clinical governance principles.
