Specialty Doctor Opportunity – Hospital at Home (HAH) & Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC)
We are pleased to announce a unique and highly rewarding opportunity for a Specialty Doctor to join the Hospital at Home (HAH) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) services at Daren Valley Hospital.
This newly created post is part of a pioneering cross-sector expansion initiative, designed to enhance our established care pathways. By joining our team, you will help shape the future of innovative healthcare delivery.
About the Role
The HAH, SDEC, and Frailty Assessment Unit are strategically integrated within the SDEC Village, facilitating collaboration across multiple specialties. In this role, you will:
- Work closely with the emergency department, medical and surgical directorates to optimise both step-up and step-down care for patients.
- Report directly to the executive team, offering a chance to influence patient outcomes and lead service enhancements.
- Play a key role in multidisciplinary teamwork, supporting the ongoing development of Hospital at Home and SDEC services.

Core Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the clinical lead and lead nurses in Hospital at Home.
- Contribute to the development of new patient pathways and explore service improvements.
- Triage referrals, review patients, and develop management plans.
- Work seamlessly between HAH and SDEC to deliver cohesive care.
- Engage in training and mentorship, including supporting:
- Medical students
- Trainees
- Allied health professionals
