Specialty Doctor in O&G

Job Title: Specialty Doctor

Department: Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £63,696 - £102,689 per annum pro rata

Programmed Activities: 10 PA

Additional Programmed Activities: 2.5 PA’s
The requirement for you to undertake additional Programmed Activities will be reviewed annually.

Applications are invited for a Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This post typically involves working on a resident on-call rota, so depending on agreement, this post would normally exceed the basic 10 PA full-time contract.

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, in partnership with the University of Buckingham, is a University Teaching Hospital. This allows us to attract, train, and retain the best doctors.

Hospital Structure

  • 15 Consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
  • 7 Specialist Trainees
  • 11 Trust Doctors at registrar level
  • 9 trainees and 1 trust doctor at SHO level
  • A 2-tier registrar rota during the day and night
  • Approximate number of births is around 4000

Role Description

Working across Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you will be supported in developing your skills covering a range of elective and emergency activities. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in teaching both under and postgraduate students associated with the University of Buckingham and will also be expected to support colleagues doing these activities as part of his or her arranged job plan. Potential applicants are encouraged to visit the department should they wish.
