Speciality Psychiatrist (Older Adults Inpatient) – Ealing, West London NHS Trust
About the Role
The West London NHS Trust is recruiting a Speciality Psychiatrist to join the Ealing Older Adults Inpatient Team, in a newly created substantive post at the Jubilee and Limes wards (under the Terms and Conditions of Service for Specialty and Specialist Grades (England) 2021).
The post-holder will report professionally to Dr Sofia Zarate Escudero (Consultant Psychiatrist) and operate under the oversight of the OPMHS Service Manager, Rebecca Higgins.
Teams & Ward Structure
Jubilee Ward (St Bernard’s Site)
- An admission ward for older adults (aged 65+ with a Rockwood frailty score of 6+).
- Covers:
- Older adults with functional diagnoses (e.g., depression, psychosis).
- Patients of any age with dementia and challenging behaviours, often due to bed pressures on other wards.
- Emergency admissions requiring immediate functional mental health support.

- Daily Routine:
- Weekly ward rounds
- Tuesday (Female Patients)
- Thursday (Male Patients)
- Board rounds (urgent patient discussions) on:
- Monday
- Friday
- Weekly ward rounds
Limes Ward
- A dedicated ward with weekly ward rounds (including CPAs/end-of-life discussions) every Wednesday morning.
