The Role
The Specification Sales Engineer – Power Distribution is responsible for driving specified demand for Eaton's low voltage and medium voltage power distribution portfolio by influencing design decisions during the earliest stages of construction, infrastructure, industrial, and refurbishment projects.
The role focuses on engaging with consulting engineers and end users to ensure Eaton solutions are specified into projects before tender. The Specification Sales Engineer will identify, develop, and protect project opportunities while positioning Eaton as the preferred technical partner for power distribution and energy resilience solutions.
The successful candidate will develop project pipelines, influence specifications, provide technical guidance, and support project conversion from concept design through to project execution.

This role is open to candidates with prior experience in similar roles or those with a technical background wishing to move into a technically focused sales role.
What You’ll Do
- Build relationships with consulting engineers, building services consultants, contractors, and end users to influence specifications on major projects.
- Drive early engagement on projects from concept through design stages, positioning Eaton as the preferred power distribution partner.
- Provide technical guidance on LV switchgear, switchboards, circuit protection, energy management, power quality, surge protection, and EV infrastructure.
- Deliver CPDs, technical presentations, and design workshops to consultants and engineering teams.
- Champion Eaton specifications throughout the tender process, demonstrating the value of our solutions in safety, reliability, sustainability, digitalization, and energy resilience.
- Collaborate with sales, application engineering, and product teams to convert specifications into successful project wins.

Qualifications
- HNC/HND, Degree, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, OR proven experience within power distribution, switchgear, building services, or technical sales.
- Experience working with consultants, contractors, end users, or specification-led projects.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
Skills
- Knowledge of LV switchgear, switchboards, circuit protection, energy management, or power monitoring solutions.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
- Confident presenting technical solutions to engineering and commercial audiences.
- Commercially aware, with the ability to identify opportunities and influence project outcomes.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing a pipeline of opportunities.
