Specifications Technologist

Specifications Technologist

Location: Glasgow & Surrounding Areas Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

Overview

An established ambient food manufacturer supplying major UK retailers is seeking a Specifications Technologist to join its Technical team. This role is critical in ensuring all product specifications, artwork, labelling, and compliance documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with customer, legal, and retailer requirements.

You’ll work closely with NPD, Technical, Quality, Procurement, and Operations teams to support product launches, manage specification systems, and maintain the integrity of product information across the business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced FMCG environment and enjoys owning the detail behind safe, compliant, retailer-ready products.

Key Responsibilities

Specification Management

  • Create, update, and maintain finished product, raw material, and packaging specifications across retailer portals and internal systems
  • Ensure all specifications meet customer, legal, and industry standards (including retailer codes of practice)
  • Manage version control and ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and audit-ready

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
