About the Role

Our Store

Located in the bustling Guildhall Shopping Centre in the heart of Stafford town centre, the Stafford Specsavers store is a busy and customer-focused optical and audiology destination, serving a diverse local community. The store benefits from excellent public transport links, with Stafford Bus Station and several town centre bus stops just a short walk away, while Stafford railway station is also within easy walking distance. This central location makes the store highly accessible for both customers and colleagues, creating a fast-paced and rewarding environment where teamwork, development and exceptional customer service are at the heart of everything we do.

Our Team

The Stafford Specsavers team is made up of experienced and dedicated professionals who work collaboratively to deliver an exceptional customer and patient experience. The store brings together a diverse mix of Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians, Optical Assistants, Audiologists and support colleagues, all committed to providing expert advice and personalised care. Team members are passionate about helping customers find the right solutions for their vision and hearing needs, while creating a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone who visits the store. With a strong focus on teamwork, development and shared success, colleagues are encouraged to continuously build their skills, support one another and contribute to a positive culture where outstanding customer service is at the heart of everything they do.

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Level 3 Spectacle Technician.

Who is this Apprenticeship for?

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as a Spectacle Apprentice.

  • You’ll need a grade 9-4 (A-C) GCSEs in Maths (or equivalent/predicted result).*
  • Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK

What does the role involve?

Day-to-day, you’ll help us out by:

  • Producing customer orders from scratch
  • Interpreting optical prescriptions and drawings
  • Correcting faults and re-assembling of glasses
  • Carrying out testing and adjustments
  • Preparing and maintaining materials and equipment
  • Ensuring that you are producing the highest quality assured product

It’s essential that you haven’t previously worked in the Optical Sector. Before applying, please check that you are able to travel to the store location on a daily basis.
