Speech and Language Therapist
Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (Independent Contractor)
Location: School-based (term-time only) - Solihull
Contract: Freelance/Independent Contractor
Hours: Approximately 34.5 hours per academic year
£50-£70 p/hour (Depending on experience)
We are seeking an experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy services for a child within an educational setting.
This is an excellent opportunity for an HCPC-registered therapist with experience supporting children with communication needs in schools and working collaboratively with education staff and families.
Key Responsibilities
The successful therapist will:
- Deliver weekly direct Speech and Language Therapy sessions during term time
- Complete an annual Speech and Language Therapy assessment.
- Develop and implement a daily communication programme tailored to the child's needs.
- Provide training and guidance to school staff to ensure effective implementation of communication strategies.
- Review and update therapy targets with school staff throughout the year.
- Attend termly review meetings with parents/carers and school staff.
- Produce clear, professional reports and recommendations.
- Liaise with education staff and other professionals to support the child's communication outcomes.

Annual Time Allocation
- 19.5 hours – Direct Speech and Language Therapy sessions
- 5 hours – Case preparation and review
- 5 hours – Report writing
- 5 hours – Meetings with school staff, parents/carers and professional liaison

Essential Requirements
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
- Experience working as a Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist.
- Experience delivering therapy within educational settings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with families, schools and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Enhanced DBS certificate
