About Horizon & the Role
At Horizon Care & Education, we’re expanding our Therapeutic Team at our specialist SEN/SEMH school (Meadowbrook), supporting young people aged 5–19. This Part-Time, Term-Time only role (38 weeks/year) lets you deliver therapy 1 day per week while contributing to a mission-driven environment:

As a Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), you’ll:
- Embed our Shine Therapeutic Model, including DDP/PACE (Parenting for Adolescents Coping with Emotions).
- Provide specialist advice and training to colleagues across our independent schools.
- Work collaboratively to drive measurable outcomes for young people in our care.
We welcome nearly qualified therapists—your experience will be valued.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Therapeutic Support
- Manage your own caseload at Meadowbrook School in Long Eaton:
- Conduct assessments, set personalised therapeutic goals, and scale recommendations.
- Regularly develop/update child-focused goals aligned with SEN/SEMH needs.
- Provide high-level consultation to operational colleagues (e.g., teachers, pastoral teams) to enhance support for their students.

Training & Empowerment
- Contribute to the Horizon Therapeutic Academy by:
- Developing training programmes in therapeutic/psychological approaches (e.g., Trauma-Informed Therapy, DDP).
- Deliver sessions to all staff to bolster therapeutic competencies.
Professional Growth
- Participate in regular supervision, continuing professional development (CPD), and service development initiatives across the horizon Group.
- Model values-driven behaviours (e.g., respect, empathy) and foster a culture of collaborative learning.
---## Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Registered HCPC Speech and Language Therapist (or nearly qualified, committed to registration).
- BSc in Speech and Language Therapy (essential for UK registration).
- Experience with children & young people (or transferable skills demonstrating therapeutic work with this age group).
- Role-model leadership—ability to train/supervise others (e.g., teaching, mentoring).
Key Skills
- Strong communication: Clear oral/written ability and relationship-building with diverse stakeholders.
- Autonomy & adaptability: Work independently but with peer/individual supervision.
- Technical proficiency: Skills in Microsoft Office (Excel), Teams, SharePoint (often used for case management).

Practical Details
- Fully UK driver licence + own vehicle (must check our code of conduct for operational requirements).
- Based in Long Eaton, near Manchester (travel/school location flexibility may apply).
