Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist
We are seeking to recruit a:
- Experienced Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist (Band 5 / AfC Band equivalent)
- Or a Newly Qualified Paediatric Speech & Language Therapist (AfC Band)
Full-Time or Part-Time Opportunities (Minimum 3 Days)
Monday–Friday: 08:30 AM – 17:00 PM Start Date: September 2026
About the Role
We are looking for Speech and Language Therapists who share a passion for supporting children aged across Primary and Secondary school years. Our students’ primary educational needs are rooted in their speech, language, and communication difficulties.
- Well structured therapy and teaching is integrated throughout the school week under a transdisciplinary model.
- The role requires collaboration with:
- Teaching & support staff
- Occupational Therapists (OTs)
- Physiotherapists
- Specialist SPLD teachers
- Art Therapists
Key Responsibilities
Working in a demanding yet rewarding environment, this role involves:
- Assessing, planning, and implementing paediatric clinical therapy programmes.
- Developing assessment, treatment, and planning strategies with a focus on evidence-based practice.
- Collaborating across disciplines to bridge SLT goals into classroom and therapeutic settings.
- Providing a nurturing environment that promotes positive behaviour.
- Demonstrating compassion and resilience to support students with complex needs.
- Contributing to a team-based approach that prioritises child-centred care.

Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in paediatric speech & language therapy, ideally Band 5 or 6, or recent qualification (Higher Education or equivalent).
- Strong clinical knowledge in standardised assessment, treatment planning, and programme implementation.
- The ability to:
- Work 協作式(collaboratively) with parents, teachers, SLT peers, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Adapt therapies to meet diverse educational & developmental needs.
- Demonstrate an independent, evidence-based approach.
- Personal strengths:
- Confidence, enthusiasm, and a strong passion for learning.
- Resilience—both mental and physical—to handle challenging cases.
- Commitment to promoting positive behaviour in a supportive school context.
Essential Skills & Qualities
✅ Confident communication with children, parents, carers, and teaching staff.

✅ Ability to negotiate differing opinions discretionary setting successfully.
✅ Ideally trained to Glasgow baby standard and preschool babies to adolescents.
✅ Flexibility to quickly implement evolving therapy/re-education techniques while maintaining focus on individual strengths and challenges.
✅ Evidence of ongoing professional development focused on paediatric speech, language, and screen problem disorders.
✅ Good attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks multiple demands.
