The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Community Stroke Team, based at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH), Paisley. The post involves delivering home-based and outpatient therapy, alongside providing inpatient care within the stroke units at RAH.
We welcome applications from therapists who are enthusiastic about developing a specialist interest in working with adults following stroke, supporting individuals throughout their recovery pathway through high-quality, patient-centred care.
RAH is a busy acute hospital with an award-winning stroke unit multi-disciplinary service. RAH is committed to supporting staff which is reflected in Investors in People status.
This post will allow the successful applicant the opportunity to work autonomously within CST to manage their clinical caseload in the delivery of a comprehensive Speech and Language Therapy service, and to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
We are excited to offer this post for an enthusiastic and motivated therapist who is keen to participate in the development and delivery of new innovative approaches to therapy to join our dynamic, friendly and supportive SLT and MDT teams. There are many development opportunities available.
The post holder will receive excellent support across both teams and will receive professional support via the SLT acute service. The applicant must be Dysphagia Trained and have experience of working as a Band 5 therapist with adults with acquired communication and swallowing difficulties, with well-developed interpersonal skills. Supervisor/ clinical educator experience would be beneficial.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
This is a permanent, part-time post of 21.6 hours per week.
- Salary is Pro Rata for part-time posts.
- This role is based at Royal Alexandra Hospital.
- The shift pattern is 5 out of 7 days.
Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required to Do the Job
It is essential that you have a degree in Speech and Language Therapy with current HCPC registration and hold a valid UK driving licence.
The successful candidate will be required to participate in our weekend working and public holiday rota.

From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will reduce from 37 hours to 36 hours. Part-time working hours will be reduced on a pro-rata basis. A corresponding increase in the hourly rate will apply, ensuring that overall pay remains unchanged.
