Job Title: Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist – Community Teams
Banding: Band 7 (Capped)
Location: Shrewsbury, Telford, and Oswestry
Start Date: ASAP
Working Hours: 7.5-hour shifts, Monday to Friday (Full-time, 37.5 hours per week)
Contract Type: Locum – 3 months with potential of contract extension.

Job Overview
Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join community teams across Shrewsbury, Telford, and Oswestry. This locum role offers a full-time schedule over 3 months, providing essential support to patients in community settings.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality speech and language therapy services, with a particular focus on dysphagia management.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessment and intervention for patients with communication and swallowing difficulties
- Deliver therapy across multiple community sites (Shrewsbury, Telford, Oswestry)
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to support patient care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional standards
- Support service delivery and contribute to reducing waiting times

Requirements
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy (required)
- HCPC registration (required)
- Enhanced DBS clearance (required)
- Dysphagia competence (essential)
- Car driver preferred due to community travel requirements
- Strong communication and clinical reasoning skills
