Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist – Paediatrics (SEMH)

Salary: £48,226–£52,413 per annum (FTE)
The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist educational setting in Milton Keynes. This permanent opportunity is based within a SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) environment, supporting children and young people with communication needs and associated learning, emotional and behavioural challenges.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will assess, plan and deliver speech and language therapy interventions that enable pupils to achieve their communication potential and access learning effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a specialist paediatric SEMH caseload.
- Complete comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments.
- Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes.
- Provide advice, support and training to school staff and families.
- Contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and reports.
Requirements
- HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist.
- Experience working with children and young people.
- Knowledge of SEMH and associated communication needs.
- Strong assessment, therapy and report-writing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an educational setting.
