SPIRITS & MINERALS Category Manager
Libra Drinks is the East Midlands’ leading independent on-trade distributor. We are looking for a creative and customer-facing SPIRITS & MINERALS Category Manager.
Position Overview
The Spirits and Minerals Category Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the spirits and minerals categories, ensuring a dynamic and engaging product range, fostering strong relationships with brand owners, and driving the category's growth through strategic business planning, marketing, and pricing initiatives. You will integrate analytical insights with commercial innovation, empowering our sales team to capture market share in a competitive on-trade landscape. This is by no means a desk job. You will oversee your categories from conception to front end delivery to our customers on patch. This a dynamic and engaging role, so experience is everything as is a self-starter attitude.

This is a hybrid role, focusing on the East Midlands region, which encompasses Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, and Lincolnshire. The selected candidate will work from home and may need to visit the Nottingham office as required. It is mandatory for the candidate to reside within one of these specified regions and have a full driving licence.
Your Areas of Impact
- Strategy: Own the end-to-end spirits and minerals portfolio, launching new trends and optimizing SKU's.
- Negotiation: Drive JBP's, secure supplier funding, and manage multi-million-pound category P&Ls.
- Marketing: Be an integral part of the team curating a bi-monthly promotional brochures. Engage in the creation of digital assets for online advertisements and social media campaigns to boost visibility and sales.
- Sales Support: Deliver brand masterclasses and tool-kits to elevate our sales team alongside the creation of customer-facing sales tools, spirits and cocktail menus.
- Front-line Training: Create a deliver spirits and cocktail training for our customer account base.

What We Are Looking For
- Experience: 3–5 years in spirits category management or buying within the UK on-trade drinks sector.
- Network: Established relationships with spirits brand owners and mixer manufacturers.
- Drive: Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to manage in fast-moving promotional cycles.
