Solutions Engineering Intern Opportunity at Cisco (Originally Advertised as Splunk)

About the Role

Solutions Engineering Interns are entrusted with the technical aspects of the sales cycle, playing a key role in helping prospects and customers understand how Splunk can address their needs and becoming their trusted advisor.

As an Intern, you’ll be based at the location specified in your employment contract. This role offers hands-on experience with Splunk, the opportunity to earn certifications, and exposure to Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Splunk’s technology, ensuring you gain a deep understanding of the Solutions Engineering function and its impact on customers.

Key Responsibilities

During your internship, you’ll contribute to core aspects of Solutions Engineering, including:

  • Deliver standardised technical product webinars
  • Conduct technical discovery calls with prospects to uncover and validate opportunities
  • Present consultative demonstrations, workshops, and technical solutions to help clients understand how Splunk meets their needs while differentiating it from alternatives
  • Understand technical strategy development for sales opportunities
  • Identify and deliver appropriate Solution Validation methods (e.g., demos, case studies) to drive successful outcomes
  • Design custom demonstrations tailored to client use-cases and existing data
  • Support technical responses to Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposals (RFP)
  • Address technical customer queries during sales engagements
  • Offer general recommendations on Splunk solution architecture
  • Triage and resolve technical issues throughout the sales pipeline

Requirements

We’re looking for enthusiastic, proactive individuals who fulfill the following:

  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
  • A genuine passion for technology and its role in solving real-world business challenges
  • Enthusiasm for tackling complex problems as part of a dynamic team
  • Bonus: Fluency in additional languages (e.g., French, German, Arabic, Spanish, Italian)
