We’re looking for people to join us as Sponsored Reserve Firefighter, a unique role combining civilian firefighting with military purpose, supporting Defence both in the UK and overseas. This is a chance to build a career where you’ll be trained, supported, and trusted to make a real difference. The role forms part of the RAF firefighter force and supports rescue and firefighting capability across the UK and on operations overseas.

You may be eligible for a Level 3 Firefighter Apprenticeship, a paid, earn-while-you-learn route into a long-term career.

What You’ll Need To Join Us
We’re looking for people with the right mindset, commitment, and potential. To apply, you’ll need:
- To be a UK or Republic of Ireland citizen, dual national, or Commonwealth citizen from birth
- To have lived in the UK for at least 5 years (in some cases, 3 years may be considered)
- To hold a full UK driving licence
- To meet the required fitness standards, including selection and pre-joining tests (clear guidance provided to prepare)
- To meet the medical and health standards for the role, including eyesight and general fitness
- To be prepared to complete situational and behavioural assessments, alongside all required background checks

- A starting salary of £30,954, rising to £34,823 once fully trained
