Team: Governance & Integrity
Contract type: Fixed term contract (maternity cover, October 2026 – September 2027). Part-time, 3 days per week (21.75hrs)
Based as: British Triathlon Head Office, Loughborough
Salary: £15,600 - £16,800 per annum

Purpose

Under the guidance of the Head of Sport Integrity this role will carry responsibility for delivering a framework to support the whole organisation's approach to Sport Integrity. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day operations of all Sport Integrity functions and will act as a champion of the British Triathlon Values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operations of all Sport Integrity functions which include the following areas: safeguarding and protecting children and adults, conduct, anti-doping, competition manipulation, compliance and data access and erasure requests.
  • Help manage all complaints and concerns relating to British Triathlon ensuring that these concerns are appropriately recorded, investigated and dealt with in a timely manner in accordance with relevant policies and legislation.
  • Lead on administrating, managing and providing education and training programmes across safeguarding and clean sport throughout the organisation to our paid and volunteer workforce, and ensure education programmes are evaluated and evolve to maximise impact.
  • Lead on proving regular communications such as newsletters to our paid and volunteer workforce across safeguarding and clean sport, and ensure the organisation actively engages, promotes and contributes to national campaigns and activation weeks such as clean sport week and keeping children safe in sport week.
  • Administer a case management system to ensure robust, efficient and objective decision making in delivering outcomes, risk management measures, sanctions and appeals processes when cases arise.
  • Support the Head of Sport Integrity in achieving British Triathlons strategic objectives and annual actions for Sport Integrity.
  • Ensure British Triathlon implements and maintains a robust safer recruitment process for staff and volunteers to minimise the risk to the organisation through managing the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) procedures and case management for positive disclosures.
  • Work cross organisationally to ensure all teams deliver a consistently high standard of practice in safeguarding, welfare and all other British Triathlons Sport Integrity functions.
  • Have an active responsibility in maintaining and reviewing British Triathlons compliance with the NSPCC Sport, and the Ann Craft Trust safeguarding standards and the UKAD assurance framework.

Relationships

The Sport Integrity Officer will report into the Head of Sport Integrity. The successful candidate will be an integral and valued member of the Governance & Integrity team and is likely to thrive through developing and maintaining strong working relationships with all other directorates and external stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a safeguarding role and supporting investigation and management of safeguarding and conduct cases, from beginning to conclusion.
  • Knowledge of the key legislation relevant to safeguarding and an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of statutory agencies.
  • High level of integrity and trust with the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters and manage investigations with accuracy, empathy and integrity.
  • Excellent verbal and written, oral, communication, presentation, IT and platform skills; ability to communicate and relate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Have digital and project management skills and demonstrate an ability to work with a range of partners driving, developing and managing programmes and projects to deliver clear outcomes.
  • Experience in developing and coordinating education programmes to a range of stakeholders including staff, board members in addition to a volunteer workforce and participants of the sport.
  • Ability to use professional experience and judgement to analyse and assess information and relating to safeguarding and conduct matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to develop positive and supportive relationships with individuals, members, parents, volunteers and staff at all levels.

Desirable

  • Relevant safeguarding experience, with professional or vocational qualifications in safeguarding would be advantageous.

Note: This job role requires an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check with children’s barred list.
