Sports Acquisition Manager, Prime Video

Sports Rights Executive – International Sports Team (London, with Global Collaboration)

About the Role

We seek an experienced Sports Rights Executive to join our team and drive innovation in sports content and partnerships. This role involves:

  • Developing, negotiating, and securing high-value sports rights agreements for Prime Video.
  • Reporting to the Head of Sports Rights and Business Affairs, while collaborating with Legal, Finance, and other internal teams to finalise deals.
  • Identifying and nurturing new opportunities within the sports industry to strengthen Prime Video’s competitive edge.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and secure new sports rights opportunities for Prime Video:

  • Conduct external research and relationship-building efforts to uncover potential partnerships.
  • Assist the Head of Rights and Business Affairs in evaluating and pursuing major opportunities.

Work with internal teams to build strategic investments:

  • Partner with Strategy and Finance to create compelling business cases for rights acquisitions.
  • Draft and finalise bid materials and negotiate agreements with sports federations.

Act as the commercial lead for rights agreements:

  • Serve as the key liaison between negotiating parties and the Legal team during complex deal discussions.
  • Maintain open, long-term relationships with sports federations and commercial partners.
  • Expand and optimise complementary monetisation of authorised live sports content.

Basic Qualifications

  • Proven experience in:
    • Account management
    • Licensing
    • Business development
  • Strong negotiating skills, with ability to analyse and understand legal terminology and broader commercial implications of agreements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the sports industry, gained from a role in broadcasting, federations, or agency accounting.
  • A natural affinity for technology, with an interest in internet services, applications, and emerging digital innovations.
