Sports & Golf Event Sales Executive

About the Role

The Sports & Golf Event Sales Executive manages inbound (reactive) sales enquiries for various golf and sports bookings, including:

  • Corporate golf days
  • Residential golf breaks
  • Wholesaler golf breaks
  • Enquiries for sports teams, including football, rugby, and cricket

The role covers enquiries for multiple UK Marriott Hotels under the Robin Manco portfolio, focusing on:

  • Converting leads into confirmed business
  • Ensuring seamless handover to on-property teams post-confirmation
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, including sports teams, intermediaries, golf tour operators, and event organizers

The position supports revenue targets by delivering a professional, seamless booking experience while fostering strong stakeholder relationships.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Enquiry Management

  • Respond promptly and professionally to all sports and golf-related enquiries across the hotel portfolio.
  • Convert reactive enquiries into confirmed bookings, maximizing revenue through upselling and strategic negotiation.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, contracts, and event orders accurately and on time.
  • Maintain detailed CRM records of client interactions and bookings.

Stakeholder Relationships

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients, including:
    • Sports teams, clubs, and associations
    • Governing bodies and event planners
  • Liaise closely with Sales Managers and events teams during booking transitions.

Operational & Strategic Support

  • Ensure group requirements (room blocks, catering, ancillary services) are clearly communicated to hotel event management teams for seamless delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across hotels in the portfolio.
  • Engage with hotel stakeholders to understand and align with sales and marketing strategies.

Resolicitation & Follow-Up

  • Conduct resolicitation calls to retain and upsell existing bookings.

Financial & Profitability Goals

  • Monitor and manage revenue and profitability associated with events.
  • Forecast group sleeping rooms and event revenue (including catering and audio-visual).
  • Review billing and payments to ensure smooth handover to events teams.

Customer Service & Guest Experience

  • Gather guest feedback on service quality and product performance.
  • Address complaints and issues professionally.
  • Remain accessible and engaged with customers throughout the entire event process.
  • Follow up post-event to ensure guest satisfaction and collect feedback.
  • Promote excellent service delivery and set high standards for guest relations.

  • Efficient CRM management (ensuring accurate, up-to-date client records).
  • Revenue growth through upselling, conversion rates, and client retention.
  • Stakeholder satisfaction (clients, hotel teams, and external partners).
