Fairmont St. Andrews – Commercial Sales Executive
Company Description

Our 213-bedroom property, located on the outskirts of St Andrews, features:

Job Title: Commercial Sales Executive
An exciting role has opened up in our commercial team, focused on driving revenue growth through:
- Golf days
- Golf and resort memberships
- Sports camps
This opportunity offers a passionate, commercially-minded individual the chance to thrive in one of Scotland’s premier golf resorts, working closely with the sales, golf, and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue & Business Development
- Drive revenue across all business areas
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities
- Work with sporting organisations, golf societies, clubs, events agencies, and corporate clients

Event & Membership Sales
- Source and secure residential and non-residential sporting events, including:
- Team camps
- Golf tournaments
- Golf days
- Promote and sell corporate golf memberships
- Target and onboard new golf members
- Retain existing members while maximising referral opportunities
Relationship Building
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with:
- Local, national, and international sports organisations
- Represent Fairmont St Andrews at:
- Industry networking events
- Trade shows
- Golf-connected functions
Communication & Operational Support
- Conduct client meetings, site visits, and familiarisation trips
- Ensure seamless coordination with operational teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Maintain accurate sales activity records and pipeline management in OPERA
Requirements
Skills & Qualities (All Essential)
- Proven background in sales, business development, hospitality, sports sales, or a related commercial role
- Natural proficiency in networking, negotiation, and relationship-building
- Consistent ability to achieve and exceed revenue targets
- Sharp communication and presentation skills
- Highly organised with a keen attention to detail
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Passion for sport, particularly golf
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and highly motivated
- Strong collaborative mindset across departments

Desirable (But Not Mandatory)
- Previous experience in hospitality, golf, leisure, tourism, or sports-related sectors
- Corporate golf event knowledge (structures, memberships)
- Existing network in golf, sports, or corporate sectors
- Familiarity with OPERA, Lightspeed, or similar systems
