About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sprinkler Design Engineer to join a growing and successful fire protection business delivering high quality sprinkler and fire suppression systems across commercial, industrial and specialist environments throughout the UK.
Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, the company is seeking a skilled Sprinkler Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of life safety systems on a range of technically challenging projects. This Sprinkler Design Engineer position offers the opportunity to work closely with project managers, installation teams and clients, ensuring sprinkler systems are designed to the highest industry standards.
As a Sprinkler Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing compliant sprinkler designs, technical drawings and hydraulic calculations while supporting multiple projects from concept through to completion. This role would suit a Sprinkler Design Engineer who enjoys technical problem solving, working collaboratively with project teams and contributing to the successful delivery of major fire protection projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Design automatic sprinkler and fire protection systems in line with LPC, BS EN 12845, FM and NFPA standards
- Produce detailed AutoCAD sprinkler layouts and technical drawings
- Complete hydraulic calculations and technical design documentation
- Conduct site surveys and design reviews
- Coordinate with project managers, fabrication teams and installation engineers
- Prepare technical submissions and operation and maintenance documentation
- Support commissioning activities and inspections where required
- Identify, manage and implement design changes and project variations
- Support projects through all stages from design through to completion
Skills and Experience
Required Essential
- Experience in sprinkler system design or fire protection engineering
- Strong AutoCAD or CAD design skills
- LPCB Basic Design Competence Review Qualification
- Experience designing to LPC BS EN 12845 sprinkler design standards
- Experience designing to FM and NFPA standards
- Experience using FHC (Canute) software
- Experience managing projects from design through to completion
- Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable
- FHC Design Competence Review Qualification
- Intermediate Design Competence Review Qualification
- Inspection Competence Review Testing and Commissioning Qualification
- Experience using Revit and Navisworks
- Experience supporting installation and commissioning activities.
