SQA Engineer
SQA Engineer – Join Our High-Growth Team at Evolito
About Evolito
Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications to support a net-zero world. We’re revolutionising personal mobility and transforming towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation.
Evolito specialises in developing and manufacturing class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for markets such as:
- EVTOL
- Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs)
- General Aviation
In addition, we design high-integrity, bespoke battery systems for aerospace and defence. With rapid growth planned over the next 12–18 months, we’re seeking an SQA Engineer to support our Supplier Quality and Compliance efforts.
Key Responsibilities
You will play a critical role in ensuring supplier compliance, quality, and process control while driving supply chain improvements. Core duties include:

Supplier Assessments & Onboarding
- Conduct "Supplier Quality Assessments" to approve and onboard new suppliers (UK & global) in line with SQRM (Supplier Quality Requirements Manual) and regulations.
- Prepare Supplier Quality Plans for gaps requiring additional controls.

APQP, PPAP & Certification Support
- Review and approve APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), PPAP (Production Part Approval Process), and FAIR/LAIR submissions against international standards (preferably AS9145).

Supplier Strategy & Development
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to select new/preferred suppliers aligned with commodity strategy for product lines.
- Drive year-on-year supplier improvements in Quality (Q), Cost (C), and Delivery (D) via structured frameworks.

Compliance & Governance
- Act as the key point for SQRM communication and implementation with suppliers.
- Initiate and maintain supplier scorecards tracking quality, delivery, and commercial performance.

Auditing & Corrective Actions
- Contribute to the supplier audit schedule and conduct supplier audits.
- Own supplier non-conformance actions, including root cause analysis, containment, CAPA (Corrective & Preventative Actions).
- Manage supplier deviation requests as first point of contact.

Work Transfer & Regulatory Compliance
- Support supplier work transfer activities as needed.
- Ensure alignment with Evolito’s Business Management Systems, including AS9100, CAA Part21G/J, and other relevant standards.
Required Skills & Experience
Candidates must have:
- Proven SQA/quality assurance experience in an aerospace or highly regulated supply chain, preferably in a Prime or Tier 1 environment.
- Deep knowledge of:
- CAA Part21G & Part21J (or equivalent certification frameworks).
- AS9100 and process auditing (within DoD/aerospace contexts).
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, and supplier quality improvement tools:
- Familiarity with AS9145 preferred.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Continuous improvement frameworks (e.g., 6 Sigma, Pareto, PFMEA, 5S).
- Root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Whys, is a plus).
- Statistical process control (SPC) and capability analysis.
- Audit expertise: Skilled in conducting external audits and compiling audit reports to a high standard.
- Industry-specific exposure: Experience within mixed-commodity, regulated environments (e.g., aerospace, defence, or automotive).
- Soft skills:
- Self-starting, proactive, with a busy, multi-project workload.
- Ability to work at pace under pressure while managing complicated priorities.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to engage across disciplines and globally.
