This is a hands-on role focused on the administration, optimisation, and support of SQL Server environments, ensuring the performance, availability, and security of business-critical systems. You will work closely with development, infrastructure, and delivery teams to support ongoing platform improvements within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Database administration and support across SQL Server environments
- Performance monitoring, tuning, and optimisation
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery management
- Backup, recovery, and business continuity planning
- Database security and access management
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and release activities
- Root cause analysis and troubleshooting of production issues

Essential Skills & Experience
- SQL Server Database Administration (SQL Server 2016, 2019 & Azure SQL)
- Strong T-SQL development and query optimisation skills
- Performance tuning and capacity planning
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery (Always On, Replication, Clustering)
- SSIS and data integration
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- CI/CD and release management support
- Azure Data Platform service

Contract details
- Outside IR35 - rate depending on experience
- 3 months rolling
- Remote with occasional travel to London
