SQL DBA (SC Cleared) – Hybrid Role

Location: Manchester / Hybrid Engagement: Inside IR35 Rate: £550.00 per day

Our central Government client is seeking an experienced SQL DBA with Oracle and SQL Server expertise to support Dragonfly secure environment operations. The role involves ensuring optimal database performance, availability, and stability for core BAU services.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and optimise Oracle and SQL Server databases
  • Manage incidents, conduct troubleshooting, and perform root cause analysis
  • Execute backups, restore procedures, patching, and upgrades
  • Support high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions (e.g., AlwaysOn, Data Guard/RAC)
  • Maintain security compliance within a secure environment

Key Skills & Requirements

  • Strong experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server DBAs
  • Expertise in performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of backup/restore processes and HA/DR configurations
  • Preferably holds ITIL or managed service experience

Role Details

  • Contract length: Initial 3-month assignment
  • Office commitment: 3 days per week at the client’s Manchester office
  • Remote flexibility: 2 days per week can be worked remotely (desired)
