Senior SQL Developer

We are looking for an experienced Senior SQL Developer to take ownership of a critical SQL Server environment and play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising database solutions.

This is an opportunity for a strong SQL professional to influence technical direction, improve database performance, support business-critical systems, and mentor other developers. All the while, working within a collaborative technology team and playing a key role in improving SQL capability across the business.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and optimisation of SQL Server database solutions
  • Develop and optimise complex T-SQL including stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers
  • Troubleshoot database performance issues, including query optimisation, blocking, and deadlocks
  • Support database security, backups, recovery, and high availability solutions
  • Work with developers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver effective technical solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor junior developers

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server development
  • Strong T-SQL skills and experience with SQL Server 2019+
  • Experience designing relational databases and data models
  • Background working with high-volume transactional databases
  • Experience with ETL processes (SSIS or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL performance tuning and execution plans
  • Experience with SQL Server Agent, backups, disaster recovery, and security
  • Exposure to Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance is desirable
