About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Developer to join our client’s team on a three-month initial contract basis in this hybrid Northampton-based role. This opportunity is excellent for professionals who want to work within a forward-thinking organization that values technical excellence and innovative problem-solving.
As an SQL Developer, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining complex SQL scripts and database solutions that underpin critical business functions
- Optimizing data processes, improving system performance, and ensuring data integrity across platforms
- Collaborating in a collaborative environment where your expertise in database development can contribute meaningfully to projects

This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about database development and eager to assist in impactful initiatives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will meet the following prerequisites:
- Minimum of five years’ professional experience in Oracle SQL programming, with a deep understanding of relational database concepts
- In ideal cases, a relevant Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, along with strong knowledge of Data Control Language (DCL)
- A strong background in:
- Data modeling
- ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
- Database design
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience working in fast-paced environments, both independently and in cross-functional teams
Additional advantages include knowledge of:
- BI tools (Business Intelligence)
- Cloud-based database solutions
- Modern data architectures
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and implement GUI scripts in SQL to process data through Operational Data Stores (ODS)
- Design and optimize SQL queries and scripts to improve database performance and reliability
- Maintain and update existing database systems, ensuring data accuracy and security
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and develop database solutions
- Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting to resolve database issues quickly
- Assist in data modeling, ETL workflows, and database architecture planning to support business initiatives
- Document database processes and scripts to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing
- Stay current with emerging database technologies and industry best practices to enhance system efficiency
