About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Developer to join our client's dynamic team on a three-month initial contract. This hybrid working role, based in Northampton, offers a flexible environment combining remote and on-site collaboration. The successful candidate will:

  • Play a vital role in designing, developing, and maintaining SQL databases that support critical business functions.
  • Specialize in writing GUI scripts in SQL to operate via Operational Data Stores (ODS), ensuring seamless data integration and accessibility.
  • Contribute to impactful projects in a fast-paced, innovative setting.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will meet all of the following:

  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in Oracle SQL programming.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (preferred).

Additionally, strong proficiency in:

  • Scripting languages such as Python.
  • Data Control Language (DCL).
  • Relational database concepts, performance tuning, and data modeling.

Experience with:

  • ETL processes.
  • Database design would be highly advantageous.

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Goetheal experience with:

  • BI tools, cloud-based database solutions, or modern data architectures is considered a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize SQL scripts to support data operations and ensure data integrity.
  • Create and maintain GUI scripts in SQL for operational data stores (ODS).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data requirements with database solutions.
  • Participate in database design, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Monitor and tune database performance, troubleshooting issues proactively.
  • Ensure adherence to data governance and security standards.
  • Document database configurations, procedures, and workflows.
  • Stay updated on emerging database technologies and best practices.
