About The Role
The SQL Developer role at Big Red Recruitment offers a unique opportunity to work within a small, highly collaborative MI & Systems team. This position is designed for a proactive individual who enjoys both development and operational responsibilities. You will be instrumental in supporting reporting, system processes, and business projects that have a tangible impact across the organization. The environment is fast-paced yet supportive, encouraging innovation and ownership. You will work closely with the MI & Systems Manager to optimize SQL queries, develop reports, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to wider systems initiatives. Qualifications
- Proven experience with SQL Server, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ETL processes and data integration.
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI or Reporting Services is advantageous.
- Good understanding of operational support and systems maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience.
- Attitude and adaptability are highly valued alongside technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Developing, optimizing, and maintaining complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and reporting processes to support business needs.
- Supporting operational systems through troubleshooting, monitoring jobs, and resolving issues efficiently.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Participating in data integration and ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Contributing to system improvements, automation, and process enhancements to increase efficiency.
- Supporting wider systems initiatives and projects, including reporting enhancements and system upgrades.
- Monitoring system performance and implementing optimizations to ensure stability and responsiveness.
- Providing operational support and documentation for ongoing system maintenance.
