The AI Practice is Workday’s frontline for bringing AI innovation to our customers. We specialize in deploying Workday’s AI capabilities at scale, turning new features and advancements into tangible production outcomes. About the Role: Engagement Manager (AI Practice)
Leveraging deep expertise in AI-driven enterprise transformations, the Engagement Manager will lead customer engagements and ensure long-term value realization after platform deployment. You will serve as the AI technology expert, end-to-end responsible for multiple enterprise customers, guiding them through AI-powered workplace transformation, and acting as a trusted advisor to Workday senior leadership.
What You’ll Be Doing
- End-to-end ownership of medium to large enterprise customers, managing deployments from initial specification through multi-year value realization, including:
- Strategic alignment: Partnering with a customer’s C-level leadership to define and champion AI strategy across the organization.
- Customer retention & growth: Identifying upsell opportunities, mitigating churn, and expanding value throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Smooth coordination: Ensuring on-time, within-budget outcomes while proactively managing risks across sales, project delivery, and ongoing relationship management.

Key Responsibilities
✅ AI transformation leader
- Guide customers through AI-driven digital transformation, including change management, governance, and strategic planning.
- Work with customers to identify, prioritize, and execute AI use cases that align with their business challenges.
- Educate end users and internal decision makers on Workday’s AI capabilities and the broader AI platform vision.
✅ Executive advocate & vision seller
- Deliver complex AI vision and go-to-market strategy both internally and externally.
- Speak confidently to executives about the future of AI at work.
- Present periodic business reviews (QBRs) and deliver incrementally higher value through AI-powered workspaces.
✅ Customer outcomes manager
- Multi-project leadership: Lead one or more concurrent implementations for large-scale customers, ensuring delivery and value realization.
- Execution excellence: Own the go-live to value transition, including performance tuning, training, and adoption strategies.
- Financial stewardship: Monitor progress against budget, timelines, and statement of work (SOW) deliverables.
✅ Sales & internal collaboration
- Participate in the sale cycle as product expert: eliciting requirements, shaping technical approaches, writing proposals, and negotiating terms.
- Provide mentorship to Professional Services in fields such as change management, strategic priorities, and AI roadmapping.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, and engineering to co-create AI roadmaps that solve real-world business pains.
About You
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years demonstrable experience leading AI-enabled transformations or large-scale enterprise implementations.
- Proven experience in AI adoption within enterprise clients or commercial frameworks such as:
- Enterprise application implementations (Workday, Oracle NetSuite, SAP in the HCM/Finance stack)
- Top-tier enterprise consulting (MBB, Dunham+Davies/BIAC, Tier 2) or technology commercial leadership (ex: Director of Startup AI buildouts)
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant AI experience (case studies, visions, or domain-expertise talks on the intersection of tech, business, and AI adoption).
- Hand-on AI training experience: Built use-case demos or apps from scratch—solution to finish.
- Clear technical fluency and ability to translate complex AI ideas for nontechnical audiences (we won’t accept consultants who avoid technical edge cases).
- Sales mindset with the ability to align stakeholders around AI-by-design shifts.
- Emotional intelligence: Champions AI ethics in practice and builds trust across diverse groups.
