Job Description
Offshore Position: Location: Gulf of Mexico and other remote global locations. Ability to travel domestically and overseas as assigned.
Responsibilities
-
Expert in equipment operation and leads others in operating:
- Cameras (video and still)
- Acoustic positioning systems
- Sonars
- Manipulators (robotic arms)
- LARS (Launch and Recovery Systems)
- Hydraulic power units
- Complex subsea tooling
- Surface and subsea workover systems

Maintenance/repairs expertise:
- Maintenance and repair of electronics
- Maintenance and repair of hydraulics
- Maintenance and repair of mechanics
- Use of test equipment
- Calibration and alignment of equipment
- General housekeeping and corrosion control

Expert in subsea navigational equipment operation and interfacing, including:
- Magnetic compass
- Gyro
- Transducer
- Sonar
- Altimeter
- Associated survey equipment

Knowledge of Hydrographic Surveyor data collection and analysis process.

Inventory management:
- Maintenance of parts and supplies inventory for electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic assemblies and subassemblies.

- Understanding of AUV (Autonomous Underwater Vehicle) technical operations.
Required Qualifications
- Five (5) to Eight (8) years’ experience in the Survey or Geoscience industry as a Survey Professional
- Ability to obtain:
- A valid Passport
- Any other regionally mandated offshore work requirement documents
- Mechanical and electrical equipment proficiency
