Senior Lead Software Engineer – Payments Technology

As a Senior Lead Software Engineer, you’ll collaborate as an essential member of an agile team that continuously innovates to develop and deliver cutting-edge financial technology products. Focusing on secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions, you’ll leverage deep technical expertise and problem-solving skills to drive impactful business outcomes across a diverse array of technologies and systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to guide internal teams, contractors, and third-party vendors in delivering high-quality solutions
- Develop secure, production-grade code and review/comprehensive debug of peer-developed code
- Champion AI-assisted engineering best practices, ensuring adoption of:
- AI-powered code reviews & refactoring
- Automated test acceleration
- Release readiness assurance & incident/root-cause analysis
- Security compliance validation & framework reuse
- Proven patterns within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) & Testing/Validation Pipeline (TLM)
- Advocate trusted automation standards, including measurable controls for correctness, resilience, and security of AI outputs
- Influence product design, application architecture, and operational processes
- Act as a functional subject matter expert across one or more technical domains
- Contribute leadership to firm-wide SDLC frameworks, tools, and engineering best practices

Required Qualifications, Capabilities & Skills
Professional Proficiency
- Formal education or certification in software engineering + advanced industry experience
- Hands-on expertise in:
- System design & application development
- Testing & ensuring operational stability
- Proficiency in one or more advanced programming languages
Specialised Technical Skils
- Enterprise-ready AI-assisted development tools (e.g., coding assistance, code review, test automation, bug resolution)
- Validation framework design for AI outputs (correctness, performance, security, handled inputs/outputs)
- Responsible AI governance: secure input/output handling, data sensitivity awareness, and compliance with resiliency/controls
- Mentorship of senior engineers on AI-code adherence to policy/risk mitigation
- Independent problem-solving for complex design/functionality challenges
- Cloud-native architecture experience
