About this Role
We are seeking a strategic leader to define and drive the technical vision, modernisation, and lifecycle management of enterprise data platforms and tooling. This role focuses on standardising and consolidating data ecosystems, ensuring security and compliance, and introducing AI and automation to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention. The individual will play a key role in shaping platform strategy, influencing enterprise architecture decisions, and supporting global markets with scalable, future-ready data solutions.
What you’ll do
- Lead the strategy and modernisation of enterprise data platforms, ensuring they remain secure, standardised, and up to date.
- Drive consolidation of tools and eliminate duplication across the organisation to improve efficiency.
- Oversee end-to-end lifecycle management of critical data platforms, including data movement, governance, and security solutions.
- Ensure high availability and performance of platforms, maintaining robust reliability standards.
- Manage data movement solutions and pipelines, ensuring scalability and seamless integration across business needs.
- Implement AI and automation capabilities to optimise platform engineering and reduce manual effort.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and define build-versus-buy strategies to maximise value.
- Collaborate with data product and engineering teams to align platform capabilities with enterprise data strategies.
- Support global markets by balancing standardisation with flexibility for local execution.
- Provide advisory support on platform and tooling decisions aligned with enterprise architecture principles.

Who you are
- Extensive experience in a senior leadership role within global organisations, ideally within telecom or large-scale technology environments.
- Proven ability to lead geographically distributed teams and deliver operational excellence.
- Deep technical expertise in data platforms, data movement solutions, and cloud environments (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and regulatory frameworks such as GDPR and CCPA.
- Experience driving large-scale platform modernisation and standardisation initiatives.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly within complex enterprise structures.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior leadership and technical teams.
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
