United Lex is adding a Senior Manager to their growing UK LexLoan team! The role is within *UnitedLex’s **LexLoan client office in London, with the option to work hybrid (3 days on-site at a central London client location).


Job Title: Senior Manager – Syndicated Loan Operations

Overview

The Senior Manager will oversee all lifecycle events in the Syndicated Loans process and provide expert-level knowledge to projects and process improvements. This role requires quantifiable experience in loan operations, a high standard of accuracy, and strong stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

Loan Execution & Post-Trade Classifications

  • Oversee the closing of LMA Par, New Issue, and distress loan trades.
  • Review credit agreements to determine correct assignment of debt and ensure compliance with transfer criteria.
  • Settle trades via ClearPar or document-based processes, including drafting:
    • Trade confirmations
    • Transfer documents
    • Pricing letters

Trade Coordination & Problem Resolution

  • Manage the loan trade lifecycle post-execution, coordinating settlements across Syndicated and Secondary Loan Markets.
  • Troubleshoot, escalate, and resolve trade discrepancies.
  • Maintain and prioritise unsettled loan trades.
  • Facilitate lender amendments, non-pro-rata paydowns, and credit events.
  • Escalate and resolve post-trade settlement issues with counterparties and back-office teams.

Process Improvement & Reporting

  • Collaborate with global teams to streamline operations and enhance efficiencies.
  • Generate internal/external reports in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with front office, legal, tax departments, and back office to ensure seamless settlements.

About the Role

  • Responsible for client deliveries and business growth, including assisting with new client pursuits.
  • A proactive, analytical, and equally dynamic approach is required to manage portfolio complexity and maintain low balance sheet exposure.
  • Requires clinical attention to detail, problem-solving, and strong stakeholder relationship management.

Collaborative Support

  • Actively contribute to new business development via in-person/virtual interactions.
  • Collaborate internally to improve workflows and enhance client offerings.

Requirements

Essential Experience & Skills

  • 6+ years of experience closing syndicated loans in the LMA Loan Market.
  • Deep understanding of LMA Standard Terms, Conditions & Definitions.
  • Solid knowledge of LSTA Standard Terms & Conditions.
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proven success in client relationship management, including negotiations.
  • Exceptional documentation and enforcement skills.
  • High proficiency in tools like ClearPar, LoanIQ, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Role-specific skills:
    • Experience working with recitals, definitions, and operations.
    • Familiarity with post-close processes (e.g., issue refunds).
    • Strategic ability to improve processes (e.g., optimal entry points on spreadsheets).

Strong Suitability Profile

  • Graduate with 6+ years of Creditor Enforcement loan practice or fit from a/an Accountancy/Economics/Commerce background.
  • Strong mission-focused collaborator who can contribute to and enhance team performance.

Work Conditions

Working Hours & Location

  • Standard UK operating hours (Mon-Fri) with flexibility as needed.
  • Hybrid: 3 days on-site (client location in central London).
  • Follows the client’s UK holiday calendar.

Confidentiality & Security

  • Strict adherence to UnitedLex and Client data security policies.

Travel Requirements

  • Willingness to travel internationally or visit client offices when required.

Additional Notes

  • Local commuters (resident in/near central London preferred).

Compensation

  • Salary Range: £75,000 – £90,000.

  • Salary reflects experience, education, and qualifications.

  • Eligibility for Incentive Compensation via Annual Performance Bonus Programme.
