With more than 130 years of financial experience and over 22,000 partners, we serve the world’s most sophisticated clients using leading technology and exceptional service.

It is an exciting time to join Northern Trust Asset Management (NTAM), as we continue to invest in innovation and growth—with marketing playing a critical role.

NTAM is seeking a Senior Marketing Strategist to lead EMEA Client Marketing for the Institutional segment.

Reporting to the Head of Client Marketing, this role will set the strategic direction for institutional channel marketing across EMEA and lead the development and execution of integrated marketing programs that strengthen NTAM’s brand, deepen client engagement, and support commercial growth across key institutional audiences.

This role serves as the Senior Business Partner for the Institutional segment across EMEA, leading the regional client and channel marketing strategy and execution in close partnership with sales, product, and investments teams.

The Sr. Marketing Strategist will also be responsible for shaping commercially focused marketing agenda that aligns with business priorities, reflects regional market dynamics, and supports awareness, engagement, and asset growth across institutional audiences.

The role requires a strategic leader with strong people management capability, commercial acumen, and deep experience translating client and market insight into measurable marketing outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities Include

  • Leading EMEA client and channel marketing for the Institutional segment, setting strategic direction and ensuring alignment to regional business priorities, sales objectives, and NTAM brand standards.
  • Developing and executing integrated marketing strategies and campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and adoption of NTAM’s institutional investment capabilities across target client segments and markets in EMEA.
  • Serving as a senior strategic partner to institutional sales leadership and other key stakeholders, proactively identifying business needs and translating them into actionable marketing plans.
  • Overseeing the development of channel-specific messaging, campaigns, and marketing materials that reflect client needs, market conditions, and competitive dynamics across the institutional landscape.
  • Partnering closely with product, investment, and communications teams to deliver content, campaign assets, and sales enablement materials that support commercial objectives and client conversations.
  • Leading regional planning and prioritization for marketing initiatives, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and programs are delivered with strong cross-functional coordination and governance.
  • Establishing and monitoring KPIs for campaigns and initiatives, present performance insights to senior management, and continuously optimize marketing effectiveness based on data and feedback.
  • Managing and developing a high-performing team, providing leadership, coaching, and clear direction while fostering collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Maintaining strong awareness of institutional client trends, competitor activity, regulatory considerations, and market developments across EMEA to inform strategy and messaging.
  • Contributing to the annual client marketing planning process and help shape longer-term strategic priorities for the broader client marketing function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
