Sr Operator, Manufacturing
Manufacturing Technician (Closed Product Packaging) – Thermo Fisher Scientific
Work Schedule: Standard (Mon-Fri) Environmental Conditions: Some degree of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required (e.g., safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, earplugs).

Responsibilities
- Manufacturing: Oversee the assembly and packaging of closed products in a controlled environment, wearing appropriate PPE.
- Packaging Coordination:
- Manage the assembly of packaging components (boxes, inserts, labels, and safety materials).
- Ensure secure and compliant packaging as per standard operating procedures to prevent transit damage.
- Labeling Compliance:
- Verify printed labels via in-process testing and ensure accurate application.
- Apply proper product and regulatory labels for identification and inventory tracking.
- Quality Control:
- Implement quality checks to uphold packaging standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to detect and address defects or inconsistencies.
- Document findings and take corrective action as needed.
- Laboratory Support:
- Clean and sanitise equipment.
- Calibrate basic laboratory instruments and monitor the calibration schedule.
- Maintain laboratory housekeeping and stock levels of consumables.
- Training & Mentorship: Assist in training colleagues (once proficient) in operational tasks.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to company safety protocols and hazardous waste management policies.
- Ensure clean, ordered, and safe workspaces.
- Follow all manufacturing/laboratory safety equipment requirements.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant life sciences discipline or equivalent experience.
- Preference (but not essential):
- Experience in a production environment.
- Background in clean production environments.
- Strong familiarity with Microsoft software applications.
- Ability to:
- Follow instructions (written/verbal).
- Meet productivity targets and maintain documentation.
- Work well in a team.
- Adapt to sudden shifts in duties.
- Proficient manual dexterity for precision tasks.
- Experience working with office equipment (e.g., computers) daily.
