About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Primary Electrical – Plant Engineer to provide specialist technical expertise in the inspection, maintenance, and management of primary electrical plant, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation across our portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Act as a senior technical authority for primary electrical plant, providing expert support across projects and operational activities
- Carry out inspections, condition assessments, and performance reviews of primary plant and associated equipment
- Support the development of engineering strategies, maintenance plans, and improvement programmes
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation, standards, and Mitie safety procedures
- Provide technical guidance to:
- Project teams
- Contractors
- Authorised Persons
- Support fault investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, reports, and asset records
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, driving safety, efficiency, and reliability

Requirements: Qualifications and Experience
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering OR
- Substantial relevant experience
Technical Knowledge
- Strong technical knowledge of primary electrical plant and systems
- Relevant professional or industry accreditation
Preferred Competencies
Proven experience working with:
- Primary electrical plant in a senior or specialist engineering role
- Core understanding of:
- Electrical safety rules
- Legislation
- Industry standards
Skills
- Ability to provide clear technical leadership and make sound engineering decisions
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and support multiple stakeholders
- A proactive, analytical, and safety-focused approach
