Sr Program lead, DSP Payments
Sr Programme Lead - Last Mile DSP Payments Team
The Last Mile DSP Payments team at Amazon is looking for a Sr Programme Lead who is not only ready to shape the future of payment processes at scale but also eager to rebuild and redefine existing workflows.
Our team moves over €1B annually across 9 countries, 2,000+ legal entities, and 37,000+ service rate combinations. Currently, many of these processes rely on semi-automated approaches, legacy systems, and manual processes—creating both inefficiencies and risks. But this is our opportunity.
We are looking for someone who thrives on disruptive growth: a strategic problem-solver who immediately starts sketching solutions when faced with messy, complex processes. As the owner of comprehensive payment improvements, you’ll steer how we automate payments across 37,000+ service rate combinations and invigorate the way hundreds of Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) get paid in Europe.
Key Responsibilities
What You’ll Do
- Drive payment process improvements across all EU manual and semi-automated workstreams—whether it’s fleet payment processing, fuel reimbursement, incentives, reconciliation, or other operational flows
- Strengthen financial controls & audit trails to minimise risks by identifying gaps before they escalate
- Automate repetitive financial operations by designing Excel-based tools, financial models, and dashboards (e.g., pivot tables, Power Query, macros, VBA) that replace slow, error-prone manual processes (If you can write Python or SQL, you’ll thrive here.)
- Track and resolve payment discrepancies at scale—trace the data, diagnose root causes, and prevent recurrence through automation
- Translate ambiguous operational challenges into precise, structured requirements for the Last Mile Payments Tech team to implement effectively
- Shape the DSP payment automation roadmap by collaborating directly with Finance, Tax, Fleet, Pricing, and Technology to drive efficiency, compliance, and growth

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

More Than ‘Seeing the Vision’, Build It
This is not a role for someone waiting for direction. This is for someone who builds the future now—whether it’s drafting the first spreadsheet, bench-testing an automated approval workflow, or meeting face-to-face to explain why a telling exception just happened.
If this resonates, here’s how your days will look:
✔ You’re fluent in Excel—Pivot Tables, Power Query, and VBA logic are second nature. ✔ You enjoy turning chaos into structure—ambiguity is just another puzzle for you to solve. ✔ You communicate with energy & clarity across departments, countries, and management levels. ✔ Change happens fast in transactions processing—the greener possible, the more we’ll value proactive risk-spotting & solution development. ✔ Travel across Europe? No problem. On-site rollouts and fast turnarounds help us get things done. (Bonus: If you speak a second European language, that helps.) ✔ Pressure is your fuel. Delivering 1B+ of transactions each year means configuration error or timing mistake has real downstream consequences.
