Sr. Sales Engineer - FreeWheel
Senior Sales Engineer – FreeWheel, a Comcast Company

About the Role
As a Senior Sales Engineer, you’ll serve as a key technical advisor, partnering closely with Sales and Services teams to support FreeWheel’s commercial success. Acting as a trusted consultant to prospects and clients, this role leads technical discovery, delivers tailored product demonstrations, scopes solutions, and produces detailed solution design documentation.
Senior Sales Engineers independently contribute critical technical insights that influence presales strategy, help advance opportunities, and ensure seamless transitions into the implementation phase. Based on a senior individual contributor model:
- Demonstrates deep product expertise
- Excels in strong communication skills
- Translates complex business needs into scalable technical solutions
- Mentors junior Sales Engineers
- Contributes to continuous improvement of presales workflows and tools
Key Responsibilities
Technical Solutioning & Client Engagement
- Deliver high-quality, customized product demonstrations and technical presentations, clearly articulating FreeWheel’s value proposition
- Lead technical discovery sessions with prospects to understand commercial, technical, and operational needs
- Lead technical scoping sessions and translate client requirements into technical solution recommendations, aligned with FreeWheel’s architecture, best practices, and product capabilities
- Produce comprehensive solution design documentation, acting as a blueprint for presales and future implementation workflows
- Provide technical responses and value propositions for RFIs and RFPs using subject-matter expertise and internal knowledge management tools

Environment Setup & Collaboration
- Support the setup and management of sandbox and POC environments to validate solution fit and accelerate deal cycles
- Partner with Sales, Services, Product, Product Marketing, Engineering, Client Solutions, and Commercial teams to ensure cohesive solutioning and alignment across functions
Pipeline & Operational Governance
- Partner with Revenue teams and Business Operations to:
- Review and forecast the New Name Sales pipeline
- Identify upcoming staffing needs
- Contribute to effective Sales Engineering utilization planning
- Participate in go-to-market planning for new product launches, contributing insights on client use cases and adoption patterns
- Contribute to client success planning during presales-to-post-sales handoff, ensuring smooth onboarding and long-term outcomes
Continuous Improvement & Mentorship
- Maintain accurate presales documentation, workflow assets, and internal tools to support sales forecasting and task efficiency
- Identify gaps in presales tools or processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and consistency
- Mentor and coach Sales Engineers, providing guidance on:
- Product knowledge
- Presales best practices
- Technical communication
- Serve as a buddy for new hires, offering structured training and hands-on learning
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred; Comcast may consider alternatives based on coursework + experience)
- 5–7 years of proven experience in a relevant technical or sales engineering role
- Strong exposure to technical solutioning and client-facing engagement
- Deep expertise in FreeWheel product lines, including experience advising on architecture, integration approaches, and best practices

Technical & Soft Skills
- Ability to scope complex technical requirements and produce detailed, accurate solution designs
- Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling abilities (comfortable with C-level conversations)
- Experienced in operational governance and continuous improvement methodologies for sales engineering tools and workflows
- Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic, agile environment
- Interest in learning complex, evolving technologies and applying them to client-specific use cases
- Previous participation in candidate interviews or assessment processes (preferred)
