About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Sales Engineer with a technically driven mindset to support enterprise sales engagements. This role is for a high-performing Sales Engineer looking to expand their security, data protection, and cloud expertise while independently supporting complex customer engagements. In this role, you will:
- Partner closely with Account Executives to drive new and expansion opportunities.
- Deliver tailored technical solutions at scale to enterprise customers.
- Demonstrate ownership of technical strategy for engagements under guidance from senior SEs and leadership.
Responsibilities
Core Sales Engineering
- Drive new customer opportunities by articulating Cohesity’s Data Cloud portfolio—including backup, recovery, cyber resilience, and data security management—to both business and technical stakeholders.
- Deliver expert, customer-specific technical support throughout the sales cycle, including:
- Discovery and stakeholder alignment
- Solution design and architectural recommendations
- Demonstrations, proofs of concept, and technical questioning sessions
- Shape technical strategy for high-value enterprise opportunities in partnership with Account Executives, contributing to effective deal progression and win strategies.
- Support technical execution planning, ensuring robust engagement plans woven into cross-functional teams.
Account Ownership & Evaluation
- Enable seamless customer adoption, responding to technical requests promptly and professionally, often during off-hour timezones.
- Lead and support major technical engagements, including:
- Product demonstrations and whitepapers
- Custom workshops and evaluations
- Competitive displacement discussions (securing market share shifts)
- Conduct comprehensive technical discovery at the PoC/PoV stage and help design technical validation that differentiates Cohesity in cyber resilience and data security.
- Partner closely with Account Executives during complex, multi-stage sales cycles that often involve decision-makers with varying technical and business sophistication.

Collaborative Playback & Post-Sales Support
- Work with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to:
- Relay customer feedback and priorities to engineering teams
- Leverage feedback to shape demand generation and competitive differentiation
- Provide post-sales technical assistance or projects as needed, ensuring customer satisfaction and resolution of deployment challenges.
- Stay up-to-date with evolving customer needs and applicable regulatory or security mandates.
Requirements
Technical Proficiencies
- 8-10+ years of Sales Engineering or Solutions Consulting experience, preferably in infrastructure, data protection, security, or cloud platforms within enterprise environments.
- Hands-on expertise with backup, recovery, data protection, and cyber resilience technologies, including:
- On-premises leveraging SAN/NAS/F Avrupa virtualization
- Hybrid architectures and cloud-native data management
- Advanced ransomware resilience and immutable storage implementations
- Proven knowledge of enterprise data security concepts, including:
- Data encryption, access controls, and compliance framework risks
- Threat surface reduction techniques
- Identity governance and asset auditing
- Ability to translate complex technical architecture into clear customer value and influence decision-making at multiple organizational levels (CISO, DevOps, Finance).
- Documented experience supporting proofs of concept, evaluations, and technical due diligence for enterprise contracts.
Collaborative & Executive Communication
- Strong ability to connect technical intricacies relevant to strategic business use cases, demonstrating alignment to customer budget/ROI objectives.
- Comfort advocating for solutions against competitive alternatives and modifying messaging adaptively based on executive or consultative stages.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or equivalent industry experience.
- Experience boosting efficiency through AI-driven tools (e.g. data enrichment, competitive intelligence) is a plus.
Additional Considerations
Travel & Mobility
- Willingness to travel as required for customer visits or multi-office collaboration.
Certifications & Fluency
- Advanced English language proficiency in verbal, written, and presentation contexts.
- Industry-recognized certifications (e.g. AWS, Microsoft, VMware, NIST Cybersecurity) preferred.
