About The Role
We are pioneering the next generation of cloud security and seek passionate engineers to help revolutionize threat detection.
As a Software Engineer on the cloud detection engine team, you’ll:
- Design and implement a scalable detection system processing billions of events from multi-cloud environments.
- Develop custom query languages, event orchestration, and advanced correlation engines to identify sophisticated threats.
- Collaborate with top-tier security researchers, turning cutting-edge expertise into engines that protect organizations globally.
- Work at the intersection of distributed systems, data engineering, and security analytics, crafting a modular, composable architecture for continuous innovation.

What You'll Do
- Lead backend engineering from rapid prototyping to full-scale application deployment across CrowdStrike products.
- Engineer cloud-native systems to detect targeted attacks, automate threat intelligence, and scale globally.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to brainstorm, define, and implement solutions with other engineering teams.
- Champion technical learning—explore cutting-edge technologies and ** elevations** the team’s expertise.
- Mentor and be mentored on web, backend, and data storage technologies and systems architecture.
- Continuously refactor and improve products by evaluating architecture, knowledge models, UX, performance, and stability.
- Operate with autonomy in a high-trust environment, owning your projects end-to-end.

What You'll Need
- A degree in Computer Science (or professional experience in data structures, algorithms, or distributed systems).
- A deep understanding of scalability, including sharding, partitioning, concurrency, and efficient system design.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of engineering best practices, such as:
- Testing methodologies (unit, integration, and security-centric testing).
- Peer code reviews and pragmatic, architecture-contemplative development.
- Peer-based engineering with reliability and stability as core principles.
- Proficiency in thriving within a fast-paced, test-driven, and iterative team environment.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, reviewed, continuously tested software on time.
Bonus Points
- Contributions to open-source (GitHub, Stack Overflow, technical blogging).
- Previous academic or professional experience with Go, Scala, big data (e.g., AWS/GCP/Azure), cassandra, Kafka, or Elasticsearch.
- Background in cybersecurity or intelligence infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with compiler design or programming language architecture.
- Thought-provoking hobbies, side projects, or explorations.
