About Role
JOB DESCRIPTION
At Digital Realty, we're building the next generation of AI-ready infrastructure. We're looking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join our Digital Realty Innovation Lab (DRIL), where new ideas are transformed into practical solutions for our customers and our business.
This role combines architecture, engineering, and innovation. You'll help design modern infrastructure that supports AI, cloud, and enterprise workloads while collaborating with experts across engineering, operations, and facilities.
We're looking for someone with strong infrastructure experience who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, learning new technologies, and working with cross-functional teams. You don't need to have experience with every technology listed below—we value curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Do
Design Modern Infrastructure
- Design scalable infrastructure solutions for enterprise, hybrid cloud, and AI workloads.
- Create architectures that balance performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Help customers and internal teams plan for high-performance compute, storage, networking, and data center capacity.
Build and Evaluate Solutions
- Develop proof-of-concepts and prototype emerging technologies.
- Work with technologies from leading infrastructure vendors including Dell, HPE, NVIDIA, Cisco, NetApp, Juniper, and major cloud providers.
- Leverage automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools to improve deployment and operational efficiency.
Collaborate Across Teams
- Partner with facilities, operations, and engineering teams to ensure solutions align with data center space, power, and cooling requirements.
- Support planning for both traditional enterprise infrastructure and next-generation AI deployments.
- Share technical guidance with internal stakeholders and customers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
